North Shore Readers Theatre Collaborative

The Reader's Theatre Collaborative is the joint venture of Ron Pullins, Leslie Powell and Marc Clopton. We are devoted to the advanced development of plays and theater on Boston's North Shore. We currently sponsoring a Saturday Morning series of plays in the Readers' Theater format, all of which take place once a month at Marc Clopton's Actor's Studio at the Tannery in Newburyport on the second Saturday (after the first Sunday) of each month. Audience feedback is a vital part of the project, so each play has a talk back following each play.

All productions are at the Actor's Studio at the Tannery in Newburyport. Saturdays 10:00 AM

veils

Inspired by a ban on women wearing burkas on their campus, Intisar, an African-American Muslim girl studying at the American University in Cairo, and Samar, her Egyptian roommate, embark on a project to create a short video exploring the controversy surrounding the Muslim practice of women wearing veils...or not. Along the way they discover that cross cultural friendships in a post 9/11 world require courage and understanding.

VEILS was also the recipient of a play development grant from the InterAct Theatre in Philadelphia.
